It's called Eastern Equine Encephalitis and it is deadly. Health department officials say one in three cases are fatal. The mosquitoes that are confirmed to be the carriers in these cases came from pools in Rutland and Addison counties. They tested positive for both Triple E and West Nile another mosquito-born illness. Vermont's Health commissioner is urging people to take the cases seriously.
There have been more than 60 deaths in the United States from West Nile this year.
