SARANAC LAKE, N.Y. -
A well know wooden boat restorer is getting a new home.
It was over a year ago when Spencer Boatworks in Saranac Lake, New York was hit by lighting. The building burned to the ground, destroying 13 boats, many of them vintage wooden motorboats. The damage, according to owner Jay Annis, was in the millions. He is now rebuilding.
"Now this will be our third move, when we move back to where we started it all. I'm not actually sure when it will be, it will be sometime this fall," he said.
The new building will be larger and on the same property where the fire started. He's still working with his insurance company in what he calls a long process.
