SHELBURNE, Vt. -
A food festival this weekend aims to introduce small farm food to visitors.
It's the 11th annual Small Farms Food Fest at Shelburne Orchards. About 30 small farms and food producers will be on hand to showcase and sell prepared dishes for the event.
Organizers say it's important for consumers and farmers to meet one another.
"People more and more and interested in supporting local farms and small farms, and though it's all over the country, I think Vermont is really amazing at that support," says Nick Cowles with Shelburne Orchards.
There will also be live music and an array of activities for kids. It costs $5 for anyone over 12 years old, but is also free for seniors.
