A Vermont man has hit the jackpot in the New York Lottery.
James Jess, 62, of North Bennington, won $3 million in the Bonanza scratch-off game. Jess purchased his winning ticket at the Stewart's Shop in North Hoosick, N.Y.
Jess will receive his prize in 20 annual payments of $99,000 after taxes. He says he has "very conservative plans" for the money, including saving for retirement and making "life a little better all around."
