MONTGOMERY, Vt. -
After a dry and sunny summer, Mother Nature seemed to be making up for lost time Tuesday night. Up to a half foot of rain fell over parts of our region.
The downpour quickly refilled parched rivers and streams, and caused some localized flooding. Among the problem spots is a section of Route 118 in Montgomery that was closed to traffic for more than an hour Wednesday morning. Highway crews also report a number of back road washouts in that area of the state.
