Cory Burdo
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -
Police say alert Wal-Mart employees
helped them identify a flare gun shooter in Clinton County, N.Y.
They say the workers recognized a man
stealing a flare gun from the store in Plattsburgh early Sunday morning as Cory
Burdo, 21, of Plattsburgh. Minutes later, two people sleeping in a camper in
the parking lot reported having a flare fly through their windows. Over the
next few days, two other occupied homes were shot at. Flares landed a foot from
a sleeping couple and in another case in a vacuum cleaner. No one was hurt and
the flares did not spark any house fire. Burdo is charged with reckless
endangerment and mischief.
