HARDWICK, Vt. -
Police say a man robbed the Union Bank on Route 15 in Hardwick Thursday. It happened at about 1:15 p.m.
Authorities say the man gave a teller a note demanding cash. It said he had a gun. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect left the bank and went toward Rite Aid.
Hazen Union High School and Hardwick Elementary School were locked down for a time following the robbery as a precaution.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s with brown hair. He was wearing a brown hoodie, large sunglasses and a blue Boston Red Sox ball cap.
