SHELBURNE, Vt. -
A big crowd swarmed to the small farm foods festival Sunday.
The 11th annual gathering at Shelburne Orchards brings together local farmers and their loyal customers. The festival features about 30 vendors and several musical acts.
But organizers say the get-together offers more than just good food and music.
"The theme of this event is for the farmers and the community to get to know each other, sit and break bread together," said the orchard's Nicholas Cowles.
One lucky raffle winner took home a hand-crafted picnic table, symbolic of the shared meal.
The festival also included tractor hay rides, pick your own apples, rope making demonstrations, a hay bale maze for the kids and other family-friendly activities.
