WINHALL, Vt. -
A mega marijuana bust in southern Vermont.
Troopers found an outdoor growing operation in Winhall with pot plants spread over two-thirds of a mile. Police say some plants were 8 to 12-feet tall. Troopers destroyed the marijuana on site.
They say its street value was between $500,000 and $1 million.
Investigators say they don't have any suspects, but they couldn't risk waiting for the growers to return for fear the plants might be harvested without detection.
