Vt. judiciary website down

Posted: Updated:
MONTPELIER, Vt. -

Vermont's judiciary website is down-- possibly due to hackers.

Workers at the Judiciary branch in Montpelier confirmed for us Tuesday that the website was first knocked off line last week, and again at the beginning of this week. It is still down.

The state is working with their website host provider Synecology to fix the problem. State employees indicated they believe the crash was the result of being hacked, but we have not been able to confirm that with Synecology.

For people looking to access information and court forms on the judiciary website, there are some workarounds. The Vermont Judiciary provided the following information:

Please visit The Judiciary Facebook page for updated information and status: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Vermont-Courts/171321956252068

If you have questions regarding court forms that were available on the website please contact Sheila Lowe by email at sheila.lowe@state.vt.us or by phone at 802-828-0517. There is also a program that helps complete some court forms by asking you simple questions and putting your answers on the right form called Court Forms Prep: http://www.vtlawhelp.org/CourtFormPrep
