CAMPTON, N.H. (AP) - Day-use fees will be waived in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest later this month in recognition of National Public Lands Day, an annual volunteer celebration.
On Saturday, Sept. 29 recreation sites across the country will be free in celebration of the day in which volunteers turn out to do work such as trail maintenance or river bank cleanup on public lands.
Day use fees will be waived in the White Mountain National Forest but fees for overnight camping, cabin rentals, permits, reservations, and activities offered by concessionaires will remain in effect.
For a list of volunteer activities, visit the website www.publiclandsday.org.
