PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -
It appears North Country Assemblywoman Janet Duprey is one step closer to a fourth term.
She took home 48 percent of the votes over her two challengers.
However, her challenger Karen Bisso has not conceded the race. Because voter turnout was just 10 percent, Bisso is actually only trailing Duprey by 488 votes. And 540 absentee ballots still need to be counted.
If Duprey is the winner, it will still be a three-way race in November. Duprey will face Democrat Tim Carpenter and Karen Bisso who is also the Conservative Party nominee.
