ELIZABETHTOWN, N.Y. -
A former Olympian turned himself in to New York State Police Friday morning.
Genrich Sretenski competed as an ice dancer in the 1988 Olympics for the Soviet Union.
He will be arraigned in Essex County Friday on sex abuse charges. Prosecutors have not commented whether those charges are related to a $5 million civil lawsuit filed against him.
The suit claims Sretenski accompanied a girl he was training to the Ice Dancing Championships in Lake Placid, where he allegedly kissed and molested her. He also allegedly sent her hundreds of text messages professing his love.
