Annette Smith
Martha Abbott
MONTPELIER, Vt. -
It will be a long weekend for the two Progressives running for Vermont governor.
County clerks began a recount Thursday, trying to determine how many ballots were checked for Martha Abbott and how many contained write-in votes for Annette Smith. Smith asked for a recount after the initial tally showed she lost by a single vote.
Recounts are complete in several counties and are being gathered by the Washington County clerk. She plans to turn them over to a Washington Superior Judge on Monday.
