Hundreds turned today out to walk for Cystic Fibrosis.
Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest national fundraising event. This is the 19th year the walk has taken place in Burlington. Organizers say it has grown steadily over the past years and that social media has definitely played a part in getting the word out about this year's fundraiser.
Organizer Carmelita Belisle said Sunday, "This is what it has become today, about 500 participants and 128 thousand dollars raised. Far - far - beyond any expectations I could of ever imagined... ever!"
Belisle lost her daughter to Cystic Fibrosis 16 years ago and hopes that with continued support, she will one day see a cure.
