WAITSFIELD, Vt. -
A Vermont State Trooper avoided serious injury after someone ambushed her.
Trooper Amber Haag was responding to a call Saturday morning when she momentarily took her eyes off the road to check her GPS on Route 100 in Waitsfield.
When she looked up, a steel bike rack and picnic table were in the road. Haag was unable to stop in time and crashed into the table.
Witnesses saw a group of kids running from the scene just prior to the crash.
