ELIZABETHTOWN, N.Y. -
In Essex County, New York lawmakers may restrict where convicted sex offenders can live.
County lawmakers have called for a special meeting to decide if they need to create a new law restricting residency for convicted sex offenders in their towns.
There's been some concern after it was learned more than ten sex offenders are living near an elementary school.
A similar law was considered in 2008, but struck down due to legal challenges. The public meeting will take place at 10 a.m. on October 22nd at the Old County Courthouse in Elizabethtown.
