COLCHESTER, Vt. -
A motorcycle crash sent one person to the hospital and closed a busy road.
It happened a little before 5:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Route 7 and Bay Road in Colchester. Police say Jeff Miller, 43, of St. Albans, crashed his bike into the back of a car that was stopped at the intersection. Miller was wearing a helmet, but police say it didn't meet federal safety standards.
"The motorcyclist was transported to Fletcher Allen Health Care with a significant head injury," said Lt. Doug Allen of the Colchester Police Department.
The driver of the car was not hurt.
Route 7 was closed for about two hours.
