A new online petition is calling for an independent review of how Burlington police handled a large protest over the summer.
Officers clashed with demonstrators who were blocking buses outside a conference of New England governors and Canadian premiers. Some officers fired non-lethal weapons and pepper spray.
Burlington police reviewed the incident themselves and say they handled it appropriately.
Now an online petition on the site change.org is calling for an independent review.
So far about 200 people have signed it including four city councilors.
