RUTLAND, Vt. -
The push to become a solar city could also make Rutland a richer city.
According to the Rutland Herald, city officials estimate a slated solar installation could bring in up to $100,000 a year in tax revenue.
The 150-kilowatt installation, which will be be going on city owned land as part of a deal worked out in the GMP-CVPS merger, is the first of many projects the two hope to work on together in a push to make Rutland the solar capital of Vermont.
