BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Vermont's heath commissioner says the state is reviewing how it monitors mosquitoes following the deaths of two Vermonters from Eastern equine encephilitis (EEE).
Dr. Harry Chen says funding for monitoring mosquitoes was cut by 75 percent this year and the state doesn't have lab to test for viruses from mosquitoes, so the trapping and testing was delayed by two months.
Chen says the state may seek federal funding to increase monitoring and spraying.
