A disturbing murder case in California involving two former Vermonters.
Dawn Papin Viens grew up in
Burlington. Her husband, David Viens, is from South Burlington.
Dawn disappeared back in 2009. Now,
David is on trial for her murder.
Prosecutors played audio recordings to the jury in which
David Viens confessed to killing his wife. He allegedly bound and gagged her,
and then boiled her body in a 55-gallon drum at his California restaurant for
four days before dumping her remains down a drain.
