Burlington police investigate 2 muggings

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Burlington police are investigating a pair of muggings.

The first happened shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday on Main Street at South Union Street. The male victim was walking on the sidewalk when the suspect approached him with a knife and got away with his money and property. That suspect is thought to be a white male with a medium build wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt.

The second robbery happened just after 1 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Intervale Avenue and Crombie Street. That's when a Domino's delivery driver was robbed by two men wearing ski masks, one of whom was carrying a gun. Both of those suspects are about 5'7" tall, one is white and the other's ethnicity is unknown.

"We don't have any reason to believe they're connected, but obviously we look for any points that may somehow be associated, so it's something we clearly look for," Burlington Deputy Police Chief Andi Higbee said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Burlington Police Department at 802-658-2700. A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in either incident.
