ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. -
Hot rods are parking their flash in the Green Mountain State this weekend.
The Champlain Valley Expo is hosting it's 19th annual Northeast Street Rod Nationals show. The street rods are pre-1949 vehicles updated to modern standards -- in order to drive on the highway.
Organizers say the car show participants from all over country -- including Hawaii -- have a passion for remaking and showing off their cars' style.
One award winning car owner was Joe Troilo, he said, "What you represent here is yourself. The type of car that it is, the type of habits that you have, the type of things that you want to do in life. All expressed in your vehicle."
"Diversity of different types of cars. Some guys build street rods, some guys build muscle cars, and some guys stick with the antiques. "We are all basically car guys," said Frank Sloup, the event's organizer.
The show continues through Sunday at the fairgrounds in Essex Junction.
