BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The Coast Guard says crews rescued one man after his 22-foot sailboat capsized near Shelburne Bay on Lake Champlain.
The Guard received a report late Saturday night that the vessel tipped over, sending three people into the water. A nearby good Samaritan pulled 2 of them out but was unable to get the third.
The Coast Guard launched a 25-foot response boat to retrieve the man and transport all three back to shore.
Petty Officer 1st Class Tiffany Hayes says the man was in the water for approximately 40 minutes and was wearing a lifejacket, which helped save his life.
The boat remains adrift. It will be recovered when weather permits.
