LINCOLN, N.H. (AP) - A 100-mile loop cycling challenge is being planned in New Hampshire's White Mountains.
The White Mountain Gran Fondo would start and end at Loon Mountain in Lincoln. Shorter routes would start at Bretton Woods and Franconia.
A news conference has been scheduled at 9 a.m. Friday in Manchester to unveil the event's logo, sponsors, and a new website.
The cycling event itself is scheduled for Aug. 24, 2013.
Proceeds will support programming for City Year New Hampshire, which partners with schools and teachers to place trained young adults in schools to help struggling students.
