Colchester town manager to resign

COLCHESTER, Vt. -

Colchester's town manager plans to step down from the job next year.

Al Voegele informed the select board Tuesday night that he will resign sometime in 2013, allowing for a smooth transition for his replacement.

Voegele has been town manager for 12 years. He says Colchester is in need of a renewal through its 10-year Heritage project, and that given his age, he cannot complete those goals.
