A homeowner in Calais was working in his yard when he found a stone urn buried there.
Vermont state police say the man found a plastic bag buried in his yard that contained a number of items, including the gray stone urn.
Police they believe the remains are those of a man, though they didn't explain what led to that conclusion. They suspect the contents of the bag were buried sometime between 1998 and 2000. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police in Middlesex at 802-229-9191.
