ORANGE COUNTY, Vt. -
New broadband service is now headed to five more Vermont towns.
Officials with the East Central Vermont Fiber Network say they've reached an agreement with the Vermont Telecommunications Authority to use VTA's proposed Orange County infrastructure to provide fiber-optic service to customers in Chelsea, Vershire, Thetford, Strafford and Sharon. Construction is scheduled to begin Oct. 1.
VTA provides discounts to entities committed to delivering fiber-optic service directly to residential and business customers, and ECFiber is taking advantage of the opportunity.
