CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Both of New Hampshire's U.S. Senators will address MEDEVAC troops leaving for a nine-month tour in Afghanistan.

Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Kelly Ayotte will attend the deployment ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Concord.

The 19 soldiers who will depart Friday are members of the New Hampshire National Guard 169th MEDEVAC unit.

The soldiers will conduct medical evacuation missions for U.S. and coalition forces and civilians as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. They will report to Fort Hood, Texas, for training and in November head to Afghanistan for nine months. Soldiers from the unit also have deployed to Bosnia and to Iraq.
