The 50th anniversary of Thunder Road's Milk Bowl will hit the track this weekend at the Nation's Site of Excitement.
Late Model drivers from all around New England make the trek to Barre for the special three-segment race. Drivers hoping the weather won't play a factor. Milk Bowl practice shortened today by the rain. Cris Michaud and ACT points leader Wayne Helliwell had the fastest cars in practice this afternoon.
Teams will be back on the track Saturday for practice and qualifying for the pole positions in Sunday's main event. Three-time Milk Bowl champion Brian Hoar has claimed a pole position in a segment in each of his victories. Hoar will certainly have his eye on the Fifty-thousand-dollar bonus for winning all three segments, a feat that's only been accomplished 3 times in the Milk Bowl's fifty year history.
Brian Hoar and Wayne Helliwell sound off about what's driving them to win this year's race.
