BOLTON, Vt. -
Governor Peter Shumlin reacted to the news today saying that despite the tragedy the state police policy will stay the same. And the Governor says that public safety commissioner Keith Flynn is taking the necessary precautions.
"Our law enforcement officers have a really tough job I'm going to be careful to not spend time second guessing them and instead be sure we're working together with mental health advocates the law enforcement community to make sure we have the best possible training in everything that we do," said Governor Peter Shumlin.
Three years ago the taser company released a warning saying the weapons should not be aimed at the chest. The governor says this is included in state police training but it is not a state policy.
