THETFORD, Vt. -

A spirit tree sits where Mccadam Mason's deadly interaction with law enforcement took place this June.

Suffering the aftereffects of a seizure, police tased him for non-compliance after responding to a medical crisis call.

Friday, police announced that the shock to chest played a primary role in his death. Mason's girlfriend, Theresa Davidonis, said the news brought back difficult memories, but isn't unexpected. "I just knew that it was going to come back -- that he was killed by the taser. I watched it and I watched him die," she said.

Police have not made themselves available for comment since releasing the report this Friday.
They say the report will be included in their investigation, due to be sent to the attorney general's office for inspection.

"I don't think they acted accordingly," Davidonis said.  She is suing the Vermont State Police and the trooper, seeking damages and a change in police policy. She wants to see additional training or a ban on tasers all together. She say in the future, medical personnel should to be dispatched along with law enforcement when health conditions are involved.

But Saturday Governor Peter Shumlin said, though tragic, Mason's death will not lead to policy changes.
