BARRE, Vt. (AP) - Authorities say a Vermont couple facing drug charges told detectives they routinely sold and used drugs in front of their 7-month-old baby.
Twenty-nine-year-old Robert Farnsworth of Waterbury and his live-in girlfriend, 24-year-old Reava Burnor, are charged with selling and possessing drugs, as well as endangering the welfare of child under the age of 2. They pleaded not guilty Thursday in Washington County criminal court in Barre.
According to a police affidavit cited by the Times Argus, Farnsworth told detectives he had been selling cocaine since 2008 and sometimes sold as much as nine ounces a week. Police say Farnsworth and Burnor told them Farnsworth smoked cocaine in front of their child many times.
Officials say they seized 2.6 ounces of cocaine when they arrested Farnsworth and Burnor in July.
