Slaughterhouse slated for Ticonderoga

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -

Federal funds will help build a new slaughterhouse in northern New York.

The USDA has approved a 900-thousand dollar loan for the Adirondack Meat Company to build a modern processing facility in Ticonderoga.

As more farms in our region have diversified into meat and poultry, they've run up against a lack of slaughtering facilities. North Country Congressman Bill Owens says building this plant will help farmers get their product to market.
