MONKTON, Vt. -
A disturbing burglary in Monkton.
Police say someone kicked in the door to a home on Pond Road and stole several items including a box of jewelry. Police say the residents are traumatized because the burglar also stole a pewter urn that contained the ashes of their infant child. The urn is only about 4 inches tall with a screw-on cap. It has black stripes on it. The bag of ashes inside is smaller than a golf ball.
