RUTLAND, Vt. -
The family of Carly Ferro,
the teen killed in a bizarre crash in Rutland last week, established a
foundation honoring the teen and her passion for golf.
Donations to the Purple
Angel Foundation can be made at any branch of the Merchants Bank. Purple was
Carly's favorite color.
The family says part of
the money will go toward one college golf scholarship for a teen girl, and the
remainder will be available for the family to disperse at their discretion.
The Ferro family also
released a statement saying, "What is most important to us is that this
has grown bigger than our family because people truly want good to win over
evil. Carly so epitomized goodness, kindness, and love that people feel
compelled to want to do something so that good can be stronger here -- and not
to have anger, and hatred and drug abuse win over the goodness and the kindness
that we all have in us. That's what her gift was, is that she always saw the
good, the laughter, the joy, in every situation. So what we most want is the
tipping point to be toward love, positive healing, and good deeds. To help the
community to rise away from any negativity and that's what's most important to
us."
Donations can be made at
any branch of the Merchants Bank. These are the addresses of two branches in
