RUTLAND, Vt. -
Rutland's Board of Aldermen unanimously approved a ban on medical marijuana dispensaries in the city.
The state has approved four medical marijuana dispensaries around the state but also allows towns to opt out.
The Rutland Herald reports that Rutland's ordinance still allows registered medical marijuana patients to grow their own plants and become members at other dispensaries in the state.
Two have been licensed so far in Burlington and Waterbury.
