VERGENNES, Vt. -
Vergennes Union High School could be seeing some big changes if voters approve a proposed bond.
The school board says it will ask voters in November to approve a $6.5 million bond to fund major repairs and upgrades. Those will include roof repairs, safety upgrades, and artificial turf and track installation at the sports fields.
The Addison County Independent reports the proposal would add between $41 and $94 to residents' annual property taxes, depending on the value of their homes.
If residents back the plans, work could begin next summer.
