A fatal day on the roads in Vermont. Two women from Cabot were killed in an accident in Marshfield.
The crash happened early Saturday morning at the intersection of Route 2 and the Beaver Meadow Road in Marshfield. According to police, 28-year-old Holly Trombly was driving three other people on Route 2, and passing other cars. Police say 26-year-old Nathaniel Smith, also of Cabot, was heading in the other direction and was unable to avoid the vehicle. They collided head-on. Trombly and 29-year-old Jennifer Hurley died at the scene. Two other passengers in that car were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Smith was not injured. Police believe speed as well as improper passing were factors in the crash.
