Vermont's largest dog show returns to the Champlain Valley Fairgrounds. Organizers say this year's event features 40 different breeds and a Golden Retriever specialty.
35-hundred people are expected to attend various portions of the spectacle. Kennel Club spokespeople say the shows are a great way to find the perfect pooch-- if you are in the market.
Jean Coffey from the Champlain Valley Kennel Club, said Saturday, "I think the really nice thing to the public, they can come and talk to the breeders and find out about the breeds, get to know it. It's really important to know your breed before you purchase a dog."
Judges rank dogs based on their coat, gait, eyes, and personality-- among several other traits. It's 8 dollars for adults. The shows run all day Sunday.
