
Welfare offices across northern New Hampshire say their budgets are unable to keep up with increased demand for their services.
Littleton welfare officials tell the Union Leader they're seeing a new group needing help -- people whose work hours have been cut and are unable to make those smaller paychecks meet their basic needs.
And in Conway, they spent $4,000 more than the $39,000 budgeted last year.
The town says even with a budget increase, this year will be tight too.
