Volunteer firefighter accused of sexual assault

SAXTONS RIVER, Vt. -

A Saxtons River volunteer firefighter is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Police say Christopher Barrett, 21, molested a 15-year-old girl in her bedroom as she was being treated for an injury and was medicated.

Springfield detectives say when they confronted Barrett he confessed to them and even wrote a letter of apology to the girl and her parents.

Barrett pleaded not guilty Monday in court to the two felony counts. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
