MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -

The Middlebury football team is up from 6th to 4th in the latest New England D-3 College Football Poll.  The Panthers improved to a 3-0 record after a 24-3 win over Amherst on Saturday.  Linebacker Tim Patricia was named NESCAC Defensive Player of the Week.  The Freshman racked up 12 tackles and added an interception against the Lord Jeffs. 

The team welcomed in its newest player Monday afternoon.  Delshon Norwood of Pittsford has been matched with the Panthers as part of the "Team Impact program." the group's mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing difficult situations.  Monday was Delshon's signing day.  He got to put his name on a letter of intent, faced questions from the media and was able to put on his very own Middlebury Jersey.  Delshon was at the game over the weekend and hopes to attend a couple of more throughout the season.
