Let's talk River Hawks

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

UVM hockey head coach Kevin Sneddon says he'll name his starting goalie for the season opener later in the week.  The Cats open up the regular season and the hockey east schedule Friday at UMass Lowell.

Tuesday was Picture day for the Catamounts at the Gut.  The team was all smiles, much like Saturday night after the Cats 7-1 exhibition win over Concordia.  There was 5 different goal scorers for the Cats and all three goalies played well.  While there is reason for optimism, the team realizes that this was just one game against a team not up to the caliber of the Red Hawks.

Speaking of the Red Hawks, a fake story has been posted on their website.   The video shows the Red Hawks mascot, Rowdy, getting hit by a car with a Vermont license plate.  Rowdy was hit while handing out season tickets to some of Lowell's loyal followers.  The story says Rowdy was in stable condition and his status for Friday's game was unknown.
