Raiders Host Rainy Doubleheader

Posted: Updated:

The U-32 Raiders are still undefeated on the Field Hockey season, playing host to the always dangerous Mississquoi Valley. U-32 took an early 3-0 lead. MVU's Chelseas Boudreau sent a hot shot off the post, sneaking into the net, to cut the Raiders lead to 3-1. In the second half, a scrum around the net allows Vallary Ross to punch a goal home to make it a 3-2 game. Raiders sophomore goaltender Bailey Hudson made a pair of big saves late in the game, to keep an undefeated season alive for U-32 with a 3-2 win over MVU.

A bit later in the night, under the lights at U-32, Raider boys soccer takes on Harwood. J. Willy McGowan kicks a pass to Teagan Drake who launches a rocket off the crossbar to give the Highlanders a 1-0 lead. Just after Winton Parker makes it 2-0 Harwood, U-32's Ohan Fillbach is there with the free-kick and that's off the crossbar and in to make it a one goal game.

In the 2nd half, national player of the week Sam Boylen gives an assist on the corner kick to Winton Parker, who scores his second goal of the game to put Harwood up 3-1. A great night in net for Harwood's Matt Fisher, coming up with the point blank save on the shot by Zach Elmore, not once, but twice. On the fourth and final save of the night, Fisher dives for the stop and barely keeps the ball from crossing the line. The Highlanders have only allowed 3 goals in their last 7 games.  Harwood picks up their 6th straight win 4-1 over U-32, the first time in four years Harwood has topped U-32.
