Lost hunter found safe

DANVILLE, Vt. -

A hunter lost in the woods of the Northeast Kingdom has been found safe and sound.

Trevor Barrett, 33, of Barnet, went hunting Thursday afternoon in Danville. Police say he called his girlfriend at 7 p.m., saying he was lost-- possibly in the Peacham area-- and that his cellphone was about to die.

Police launched a night-time search for Barrett. They were concerned about his safety because he was only wearing a T-shirt and blue jeans and temperatures dropped into the low 40s.

Friday morning at about 8:30 a.m. Barrett was found by a member of the search team walking along the Danville-Peacham Road. He was not injured and was re-united with his family.
