BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Vermont's Girl Scouts celebrated a historic day in Burlington.
The organization -- with troops worldwide -- turned 100 Sunday. About 400 Vermont members gathered in the Queen City to celebrate.
Organizers, like Cadet Troop Leader Betsey Dempsey, say the big day deserved a big celebration. "It's really taken off and it's still really strong, so it's such a great opportunity to do so many things they wouldn't normally get a chance to do," she said.
Sunday's celebration included a flag ceremony, speeches from Miss Vermonts past and present, a vintage fashion show and, of course, a badge ceremony.
