Police break up large UVM frat party

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Burlington police say a University of Vermont fraternity party got out of control this past weekend.

Officers say party-goers started jumping out of the windows when police and liquor control agents were called to the Sigma Phi house on College Street for a noise complaint. As many as 175 people were at the party. But by the time police got control of the scene only 50 people were left. They cited 34 for underage drinking.
