Fire destroyed a home in Shelburne Monday afternoon.
Firefighters found heavy fire on the second floor of the Northern Heights Rd. home. Crews from eight departments were called to battle the blaze. There was confusion at first about where the homeowners were.
"We were originally told that there were two people trapped, so we initiated a primary search. Luckily no one was found. As we continued with the fire scene we did find and got accountability for all family members. They were all out of the building," said Shelburne Fire Dept. Asst. Chief Jim Buell.
Despite the efforts of 40 to 50 firefighters, the home is considered a loss. A state police fire investigator has been called in to help determine the cause and origin of the fire.
